Intro to blogging
That Piano Stairs video that Gauden posted is hilarious! Where do you get one? It is such a great way of promoting Music Health!
Blogging
I think this is a most useful intervention, enriches and ensures wider exchange and learning. I wonder if there is "Blogging made simple", even twitting!. If so I would be most grateful for advice
Intro to Blogging
@okeyos: thanks for the interest -- we hope this site generates and sustains this sort of involvement. In order to start a blog, all you need do is click on Create and Publish on the left hand side of this page where you have your personal navigation links. You will be given a list of types of content that you can creat -- simply click on "Blog post" and you are on your way to creating your first post. Looking forward to reading your first one... We are also hoping that some of the participants at GCHP7 will be doing this live during the meeting.
Social networking technologies
Hello okeyos,
I agree with you that this is a wonderful forum particularly for those of us unable to attend this important conference in person. Social networking technologies have opened incredible opportunities for sharing knowledge and building communities of practice. They are also becoming powerful health promotion tools. I am really looking forward to seeing these in action during this conference. In response to your question, here are a few links on blogging and tweeting to help you get started:
Blogging
Introduction to blogging: http://www.unc.edu/~zuiker/blogging101/
I have recently started blogging myself and I am using Wordpress http://wordpress.org/ which I find both userfriendly and powerful.
The link to my blog: http://shebamuturi.wordpress.com/ It's very basic but I hope to develop it further as I learn about the advanced features.
Twitter
Twitter is considered microblogging because you are posting messages that are only 140 characters long.

Thanks, and a suggestion
@emuturi -- thanks for these useful links -- maybe you'd be interested in turning your comment into a first blog post as this is interesting to many other users who want to explore the world of social media and social networking in health promotion. Keep this flowing :-)
